Acoustic Guitar Radius Plate/Radius Dish for Luthiers and Guitar Builders
An MDF guitar radius plate for Luthiers and acoustic guitar makers for that perfect radius.
Ideally suited to a go-bar deck system, or with application of a sanding sheet, can be used for shaping the guitar tops and backs.
At 595mm square, they have mitered corners to allow easier fitting to a go-bar deck and have engraved radius information for easy identification.
Made from 2 laminated pieces of 12mm MDF for a total thickness of 24mm, these Radius Plates are plenty sturdy enough for the application. The laminated construction also minimises the inherent 'cupping' that machined MDF does by keeping 3 uncut surfaces to provide strength to the shaped surface. All cut on CNC to ensure the accuracy.
Finished with 2 coats of water-based polyurethane (it is highly recommended to occasionally re-coat the poly to keep the dish in good condition), these Radius dishes are complete and ready to go!
Please note that a tight radius selection may carve through the middle layer and expose a 'ring' of glue from the laminations. It no way effects the operation of the dish.
